Charlene holds the national professional designation of Certified Event Manager (CEC, CEM) and is a Past President of the Canadian Special Event Society (CSES) – Alberta Chapter. She is also a founding member of the International Special Events Society (ISES) Calgary Chapter. Recognized as an industry expert, she was a judge for the Canadian Event Industry Awards, the Association of Destination Management Executives Achievement Awards, as well as a judge of the ISES Esprit Awards.
Committed to the industry of special events Charlene designed and wrote the original curriculum for the Event Management Certificate Program at Mount Royal College in Calgary. The unprecedented demand for this program has resulted in the development of an on-line version of the certificate, which Charlene authored, and the redevelopment of the program. She continues to teach two of the six courses offered.
Charlene has more than 10 years experience as a project manager for conferences and other special events including gala dinners, fundraisers, award ceremonies, employee recognition and corporate re-branding celebrations.
